Our take
I picked up the AOC G2490VX for a budget gaming setup, and it delivers where it counts. The 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make for fluid, responsive gameplay. The VA panel offers better contrast than TN, though viewing angles aren't IPS-level. Brightness is adequate at 350 nits, and the 1080p resolution is fine for this size. The slim bezels look modern, but the stand is basic with limited tilt. Image quality out of the box is a bit washed out; some tweaking helps. For the price, it's a great entry-level gaming monitor.
